iSnips / Privacy
Privacy policy
- Google Drive:
drive.file权限,在你的云端硬盘普通文件夹中保存iSnips/snippets.json,不更改共享设置。
English
This policy is provided by Uni3K and covers the iSnips browser extension and the iSnips pages on this website.
The extension works locally without an account. We do not run analytics, advertising, tracking or a server that receives your extension records.
1. What the extension accesses
When you save a selection, iSnips stores the selected text, page URL, domain, title and timestamps. Notes include the current page URL when “Attach page” is checked. Saved highlights include their source URL and text positions so they can be restored. Folder names and record assignments are stored locally.
The content script reads page text to capture your selection, show the selection save button and restore saved highlights. It does not upload the pages you visit or keep a browsing-history log. iSnips installs without access to all websites: the capture shortcut and context-menu action run only in that tab. Site access for all pages is optional and is requested only when you enable the selection save button, copy history, highlight restore on every page, page links on notes, or a sync server; you can turn it off in Settings at any time. You can also disable capture and highlights for a domain and its subdomains.
2. Optional copy history
On first use iSnips explains this feature and asks you to choose Agree and enable or Not now. Nothing is recorded until you agree. While on, iSnips records text you copy or cut with the browser’s normal controls on supported pages, with its source URL, domain, title and time, keeping only the latest 99 unique entries on this device. It does not read the system clipboard, other apps or password fields, and skips incognito tabs and disabled domains. History is excluded from sync, exports and snapshots and can be paused, edited or cleared at any time.
3. Local storage and credentials
Records, highlights, folders and preferences live in your browser profile (IndexedDB and extension storage), together with local snapshots and recovery copies. WebDAV address, username and password are stored locally, readable only by trusted extension pages, and are not separately encrypted by iSnips; protect your device and browser profile. Google authorization is handled by the browser identity API; the web connection keeps only a short-lived access token in session storage, never a refresh token, and never sends tokens to an iSnips server.
4. Optional synchronization
Sync is off by default. When enabled, iSnips sends records (text, source, timestamps and deletion markers) and folder definitions to the service you choose. Highlights, preferences, copy history and snapshots are not synchronized.
- Google Drive: only the
drive.filescope is requested;iSnips/snippets.jsonis stored in an ordinary folder in your Drive and sharing settings are never changed. - WebDAV: records, folder definitions and credentials are sent to the server you configure over HTTPS. Its operator controls the data under its own policies.
We do not sell data, use it for advertising or transfer it to data brokers. Data received through Google APIs is used only to provide the sync you request and follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Export, deletion and your choices
You can export a JSON file with records, highlights, folders and supported preferences; exports and snapshots exclude sync settings, credentials and tokens. Trash is reversible. “Clear local data” removes the extension’s local records, folders, highlights, preferences, credentials, recovery copies and snapshots. Files already on Google Drive or WebDAV and exported backups must be deleted separately. You can revoke iSnips access in your Google account.
6. Website and contact
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses no cookies, scripts, ads or analytics; the host may keep access logs for security and operations. Contact support@uni3k.com with questions. Material changes will be reflected on this page and in the extension’s release notes.
